In 2006, Cardinal Bergoglio chose a children's hospital in Palermo (Buenos Aires) to celebrate The Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper. There, he washed the feet of 12 sick children.
His episcopal motto is "miserando atque eligendo" (lowly, yet chosen).
